PRESIDENTS MESSAGE

Greetings brother and sister Kiwanians —

October marks the beginning of a new Kiwanis year and a changing of the guard. President Donna and the Board of Directors have lead us through a year filled with challenges..... and they’ve done a remarkable job. I would hope that we all take a moment to personally thank Donna and the retiring board members for the strong and confident guidance they’ve provided our club. Thank you all!

On October 1, your new leadership staff takes the helm. I can assure you we are all eager and excited to begin our new duties . I am personally very humbled to know that I have been given the opportunity to serve one of the finest Kiwanis Clubs in existence. It is with great pride that I wear the Burlington Kiwanis Club Badge at district, state and international functions.

Someone once said the seven deadliest words for any organization are “We’ve never done it that way before”! We must carry on the tradition of excellence we’ve always enjoyed, but we also should be receptive to new thoughts and new ideas that will allow us to grow as a club and enable us to continue to serve our community and children . The challenge I lay out to our new Board of Directors, committee heads and membership is to review our past, examine our present and plan our future. New fundraising ideas are currently being studied and we are exploring expanded use of the Club’s resources to provide additional income. A committee will be formed to prepare a five-year strategic plan for our club to ensure we stay on track with our mission.

Finally, thank you to all who so willingly agreed to be my committee chairs and to the many who do the mundane tasks necessary to keep our club running smoothly..... you’re all great! I look forward to serving you —

Wyman
