PRESIDENTS
MESSAGE
Greetings
brother and sister Kiwanians —
The
changing of the guard has taken place and we are now busily into a new
Kiwanis year. Thank you for all the kind words of encouragement and
notes I have received.
November is the beginning
of the busiest time of the year for us. It seems as though there is
something going on almost every week from now until the holidays are
past. November 10th is
Minister’s Day - - - - - be sure to invite your clergyman/woman to
attend as a guest of the club that day as we honor those who do God’s
work and minister to us daily as their vocation. November 17th
is our “
Turkey
Day”, traditionally the best attended meeting
of the year - - - - don’t miss this opportunity to take a turkey home
with you and have lots of fun with Bingo. Remember, this is also the one
meeting per year that is for members only - - - - please do not bring
guests on this day. And finally, Santa and his helpers start at the mall
the last part of November and continue their visit until the last week
before Christmas. We need lots of help for this special event. It is one
of our largest fund-raisers. Many, many man-hours are necessary to be
successful - - - - please check you calendar and be prepared to sign up
for as many shifts as your schedule can handle. We need Santa’s and
his picture taking helpers.
All
of these functions take loads of preparation and planning. “Be the
change” this holiday season by volunteering for one extra shift or
donating one extra dollar to “Coats and Boots for Tots.” A child in
need will be glad you did!
Yours
in service
Wyman
