PRESIDENTS MESSAGE

My Dear Friends – I can’t believe I am already writing my final message of my term as your president. This Kiwanis year has gone by incredibly fast, and incredibly smoothly. Our officers and board of directors have dealt with funding requests, club policies and numerous tough issues fairly and fearlessly. My committee chair persons did a great job of planning, organizing and carrying out their assigned tasks. The general membership, as usual, was ALWAYS ready and willing to pitch in and help where needed. I’m so proud to have had this opportunity to serve our club and every one of you has made it an extremely pleasurable and rewarding experience for me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart … it has been a year in my life that will never be forgotten!

I hope that you will give incoming President Dave Stoermer the same courtesies and cooperation afforded me. When asked to chair a committee, please say yes. If asked to do any of the myriad of jobs that are necessary to keep our club running smoothly, please say yes. When asked to go out and recruit new members … say yes. Don’t allow our club to stagnate … get involved! We need your new ideas and suggestions to allow us to continue to meet our objectives. Embrace change! The seven deadliest words within any organization are “We’ve never done it that way before!” There are challenges ahead of us. We need to find new avenues to allow us to earn more money and help more children. We need to make a concerted effort to recruit new members.... that we may continue as the largest AND BEST Kiwanis Club in the I-I District and one of the largest clubs in all of Kiwanis International.

I’ve had the good fortune to see the letters we’ve received from children that have been given new coats. I’ve read the letters from youth who have been able to attend scout camps because of funds we donated. Each third grader in all the area schools have received a new dictionary and many high school students have received college scholarships … school nurses have been able to provide clothing or other necessities for needy and impoverished students … all of this due to funding from our club. We have indeed BEEN THE CHANGE in the lives of many of our communities’ children. Let’s continue to work together so that future children may have those same opportunities. We can and will continue to… BE THE CHANGE!

Thanks for a truly wonderful year…

                                           Wyman
