PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Dear Kiwanis family-
I
can’t
believe it is time already for me to take over the responsibilities of
Kiwanis President. The last couple of years have gone by very
fast.
I
want to thank Wyman, the officers and the board for their hard work last
year. We tackled some important issues, and the club thanks you for your
time and dedication. I also want to thank everyone for the confidence
you have shown in me by electing me as your president. I will do my best
to warrant your continued support. I consider it a great honor to be
president of the
Burlington
Kiwanis Club.
I
am planning a busy year in 2006-2007. I will need everyone to “Step up
to the plate” and make a difference.
I
have several priorities for this next year:
Priority #1 is to increase membership. Membership is the life blood of our club!
Membership in the
Burlington
Kiwanis Club is special and we share it with special people. My goal for
the next year is to increase membership by 10%.
Priority #2 is
to increase fund raising. We traditionally give about $30,000 back to
our community each year. With 200 members, that means we are only giving
about $150 per member. You know, I think, we could assess all our
members like Rotary, and come up with more than that. But, is that what
we are about? I don’t think so! We currently have 15 grills that we
use for our Pancake Breakfast. I think we should find additional ways to
use that equipment for fundraising. Our camera equipment could be used
for more than the Santa Project. These are just a couple of ideas. I
have a committee looking into ways to increase our fundraising and I am President’s Message

President’s Message
Continued from Page 1 sure they will come up with some good ideas. Maybe we just need to tweak
our existing projects. Our Travelogue Team has tweaked that project and
it looks like our income will at least triple. Good Work!! We need all
of us to “Step up to the Plate” and make a difference. My goal for
fundraising next year is to increase our giving by $10,000.
