NOVEMBER ACTIVITIES

We are approaching the busiest time of year for our club. Be prepared to donate some time for our fundraising and service events. This is a difficult time for many persons, and our goal is to try to make it a little better for as many as we can.

The official visit of the I-I District Governor to our area will be on November 5 at the Kensington in Galesburg . The meeting begins at 1:00 p.m. See Lt. Governor Michelle Williams if you wish to attend.

The Burlington Kiwanis Club Annual Feather Party will be held at our regular meeting event on November 16. This is one of the few meetings of the year that we request that no guests be invited. On that day, we will play bingo for turkeys. If you are a winner and don’t really need one, please consider donating it to a local organization holding a Thanksgiving Dinner for the community. This is a fun day so hope you will all attend.

The newly formed Fundraiser Committee will meet on Wednesday, November 8 at 4:47 p.m. at Stoermer’s for their initial brainstorming session. The purpose of the committee is to explore new projects to raise funds to help more kids. The committee is open to all interested persons. The involvement of more persons means more ideas. Anyone else who would like to participate is welcome. If you have suggestions for fund raising activities, share them with Dave. The final year of the Santa Project at Westland Mall will get underway just before Thanksgiving. More details will be announced at our regular meetings.
