Dear Kiwanian: 

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer. I want to remind everyone of a couple of events that are coming up this month. Our Kiwanis Play Day is going to be held on July 19th. 

Jim Knapp and his committee are going to make a couple of changes in this event this year in hopes of attracting better attendance. There will be more on this in the coming weeks. I hope we can get a lot of Kiwanians at this event this year. 

Also this month is the Family Picnic / Bee's Night. Dennis Dietzman and his committee are working hard on this event. I hope we can also have a good showing for the Family Picnic/Bee'sNight. We are so lucky to have major league baseball in our community. We should support it.

  BURLINGTON KIWANIS PLAY DAY

 Our regular meeting on Thursday, July 19 will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the 40&8 Park which is immediately north of Community Field. This will be a part of our annual Kiwanis Play (Sports) Day. There will be no regular Golf League play on Wednesday, July 18. Play Day is an event for all members to relax and participate in fun activities and get to know each other even better. Those who wish to play golf will have the opportunity to sign up at a regular meeting. The evening meal includes some of the finest roast beef you will ever taste, prepared by our own chefs over a slow cooking rotisserie. It is rumored that the beef is frequently basted with a secret ingredient. (I don’t know what the label says, but it is opened with a tab on the top) Come with an appetite and be prepared to relax and have fun.
