Dear Kiwanians:

It is hard to believe that this is my final month as Kiwanis President. This year has gone by too fast. I again want to thank all of you for the confidence you had in me to elect me your President.

It has been an honor to lead you this past year. I have always believed that the Burlington Kiwanis Club is an outstanding group of people. Being President has just reinforced that belief. When you are Presi­dent, you have to ask a lot of people to do a lot of things. I asked dozens of members to help, almost always the response was, “how can I help?” I want to thank all the members that gave of themselves to help the children of our community.

I had a number of goals that I wanted to accomplish this past year, and we made progress in most. My first goal was to increase membership, and, so far, we have signed up nineteen new members. However, we lost twenty-one members. We still need to work on membership. I still think that it is important for our club to continually recruit new members. As I have stated in the past, I believe new members are the life blood of our club. We have attracted some excellent new members this past year, members that I think will make important contributions to our club. I hope Kay and her administration continue to make membership a priority.

My second goal was to increase fundraising. We have made some significant improvement with this goal. The Pancake Committee did a fantastic job this year, the Santa Committee had a great year, and there are some new fundraising committees working to find new ideas to increase our fundraising.

My third goal was to find a new location for Santa. That was accomplished thanks to the hard work of the Santa Committee. We are looking forward to an exciting new location at Fun City .

My fourth goal was to increase the exposure of our club in the community. I think that the Public Relations Committee has done an excel
