Dear Kiwanians,

The new Kiwanis year has begun and I am beginning to feel a little settled as the new President. I have already learned quite a bit about our club and how we continue to help the community.

The beginning of the year and the holiday season are always a busy time for the club. The dictionary and thesaurus projects are well under way. We are gearing up for the Boots and Coats for Tots and the Santa Project and work has already begun on the Pancake committee.

Public Relations is one of my personal favorites and a vital part of any organization. The Kiwanis Public Relations committee has already been meeting and putting together some great ideas. The committee is focusing on ways to improve the newsletter, how to best market the projects we put on and also generating new ideas. If you have any ideas for this group, please let them know.

They continue to look for new information in the newsletter. If you would like to see something published or would like to write an article, please send your information in by the 20th of each month to Tom Cameron, the newsletter editor.

As many of you know the theme I have chosen for the year is “K Is the Way” (a little play on words! Ha Ha!) In all seriousness, “K Is the Way” is “Kiwanis is the Way.” I hope you take the time to reflect about what our club represents and the impact we have on so many lives. Kiwanis is the way to generosity, volunteerism, commitment, passion, love, clothes on a child’s back, that smile from someone so young that it makes you smile deep down every time. Thank you for volunteering and making an impact.

Kay Breuer
