Community Service Activities
Each year Kiwanis members participate directly through their personal services in a number of community service programs, including the following:
Major Emphasis Young Children: PRIORITY ONE

This is a national Kiwanis program in which our cub participates in carrying out a number of projects to assist young children. Click here for further description.
Baby Food Project
Our club members bring jars of baby food to club meetings for donation to a local food pantry for the needy.
Blood Drive
Chair: Melissa Jones
Our club members organize and conduct a blood drive at which our members and others donate blood for a local blood bank.
Boots and Coats for Tots
Chair: Jim Corder
Each school year our club members contribute funds to provide boots and warm clothing for children who might not otherwise be supplied with these items.
Dictionary and Thesaurus Program

Ding-A-Lings (Salvation Army)
Chair: Tom Cameron
Our club members join with others in ringing bells outside local businesses to obtain contributions at Christmastime to support the public service activities of the Salvation Army in our community.
Highway Cleanup

Our club members undertake to pick up trash on a specified part of an interstate highway.
Hospital Dolls
Chair: Mary Delzell
Kid's Night at the Ballpark
Our club members work with the Burlington Bees ball club to provide an entertaining evening and prizes for children at the ball park.
Kiwanis Kid's Christmas
Chair: Lois Blythe
Our club members accompany needy children to the local Target store and assist them in picking out toys or other items for Christmas from funds provided by our club and by Target.
Paint-A-Thon
Chair: Jim Corder
Our club members join with members of other organizations in an annual event that paints houses for persons in the city who could not otherwise afford to keep up their properties in this way.
River Cleanup
Our club members participate with members of other organizations annually to remove trash from the banks of our beautiful Mississippi River.
School Nurse Program

Sponsored Youth Circle K - Key Club - Builders Club

Our club members seek to organize and supervise youth Kiwanis community service organizations at the local schools.
